  1. Check out their physical location

Everything seems to be online these days. But if you’re going to work face to face with someone, why not head down to their location and check it out for yourself?

Pictures can always be edited and reviews can be false, but there is nothing quite like turning up to an actual gym or personal training studio to get the vibe of the place.

Remember to try and ask to turn up when both the gym is quiet and busy. You want to see what it’s like in action and if possible, try and head down at the time you want to train there yourself. This will give you a great indication of whether they are the right trainer, and the right gym for you.

2. What is their track record?

There are hundreds of ways to get results in the gym. There are even more people who TALK about getting results.

But does your trainer ACTUALLY HAVE proven results?

Can your trainer show you 10,15,20 pictures of people they have trained who have gotten results.

More importantly, how did they get there? Was it using starvation diets? Juice detox? Or eating nothing but leafy greens?

Or did they eat plenty of meals, reduced hunger, train hard, slept well and most importantly of all, kept the weight off?

Ask to see proof of the results they’ve obtained and always ask about what will be specific in your program so you can get a good idea of what to expect.

3. How Busy Are They?

Bad trainers are very rarely busy.

Good trainers are rarely available.

Now this isn’t the only indication of a good trainer, but if they have 90% of the day free when they are supposed to be training people, it might be a red flag.

Ask to see qualifications, results, testimonials and reviews. And use all of these points to decide if this trainer is the right person for you.

Once you have decided on the right trainer for you, my best piece of advice would be to go all in and do everything they ask. Then and only then will you be able to see if they are worth the investment of time and money!
